Cedric Brazle Turns Love, Loss and Memory Into Music on Cologne (Vol. I)

You know how a certain scent can take you back to a person, a place or a moment you thought you’d forgotten? Cedric Brazle is turning that feeling into an entire R&B experience.
The Jacksonville, Florida singer released his five-track EP, Cologne (Vol. I), on October 14, giving listeners a project rooted in love, vulnerability, heartbreak and the memories that linger long after relationships change.
And the inspiration behind the title makes the project even more personal.
Following the passing of his grandfather, who helped shape his understanding of manhood, Brazle received a cologne set that once belonged to him. He continues wearing the fragrance as a reminder of their connection.
Now that’s storytelling with layers.
Musically, Brazle pulls from the emotional honesty of traditional R&B while exploring atmospheric production, falsetto vocals and touches of rock.
The EP includes “mine.”, “woman.”, “again & again.”, “playing with fire.” and “casanova.” featuring fellow R&B singer Reggie Becton.
Beyond the music, Brazle has spent the last two years developing his artistry, sharpening his musicianship, exploring choreography and building an interactive digital experience to complement the project.
It’s the kind of intentional artist development that deserves recognition, particularly at a time when emerging musicians are often pressured to release music constantly just to remain visible.
For R&B listeners looking for emerging voices with something meaningful to say, Cedric Brazle deserves a listen.
