Marsha Ambrosius: ‘One Night Stand’ | Prod. Dr. Dre, Blu2th…

Updated: Aug 15

What's Good Ya'll!!! I'mma be real, I don't listen to Marsha like that. She's a whole vibe now but she's more of a "I have to be in the mood" for her artist. However, I'm so glad I didn't allow my "mood" to hinder me from listening to her latest single 'One Night Stand'. If you are not familiar with Marsha, you may be more familiar with her former affiliation to the European duo, Floetry. Marsha had been a founding member of the group since 1999 but it would be their move to Philadelphia in 2000 that would set the duo on a path to compose and sing background vocals for Michael Jackson and later on release their own album. Singles Like 'Say Yes' and 'Getting Late' had us all in a sensual, poetic chokehold. Now that I think about it, it was Floetry and Jill Scott that really got me in my poetry bag deeper than I already was as a teenager. I explored topics way ahead of my time and it was truly due to their influence lol.

It's been a long time since I've checked for Marsha, I purchased ( yes, I paid actual coin) her first album 'Late Nights & Early Mornings' It's a really beautiful first solo project if you have never checked it out. It has been 2018 since Marsha has released an album, so who knows maybe with this new single one is on the way.

What I love so much about this song is the Jazz vibes. I've been in my Jazz bag a little heavy lately so this was right up my ally. Now you already know Marsha is going to come with the vocals, there's really not much to say about that there, any song, and I do mean ANY, she can make effortlessly sexy. Her voice belongs in Jazz music to be honest it just fits. I also love the sample nod to Patrice Rushen's 'Remind Me' and the Mary Jane Girls 'All Night Long' although, all I could think about was Mary J. Blige's remake of All Night Long lol. See this is why it is important to know your musical history. Marsha's Latest single is produced by THE Dr. Dre and Erik "Bluetooth" Griggs, again I'm just a messenger, check it out for yourself:

Now I don't know how much you wanna play 'One Night Stand' around your boo or what not but the song is definitely a vibe and has been added to the April playlist. Make sure you keep up with Marsha Ambrosius for details on an album release via IG: https://www.instagram.com/marshaambrosius/?hl=en
