Boyz II Men Are Going Country, and the Harmonies Are Coming With Them

Boyz II Men are preparing to explore a new musical lane, and if there's one thing we know about this legendary group, it's that the harmonies are coming with them.

The Grammy-winning R&B trio has announced plans for a country music project through Warner Records Nashville, with a release expected in 2027. An official album title and release date have not yet been announced.

At first glance, country might seem like a surprising direction for the voices behind “End of the Road,” “I'll Make Love to You” and “On Bended Knee.” But listen closely to what makes those songs timeless: emotional storytelling, memorable melodies and harmonies that carry every word. Those qualities have always had a home in country music, too.

Rather than treating the move as a departure from R&B, it may be more interesting to see it as another way for Boyz II Men to tell stories. The group's signature vocal blend has crossed generations, and the genre's emphasis on narrative could provide a fresh setting for it.

The announcement also arrives at a moment when the boundaries between country, soul, pop and R&B are being reconsidered by audiences and artists alike. For a group with Boyz II Men's history, stepping into a different musical tradition offers both a creative challenge and an opportunity to introduce their sound to new listeners.

Of course, the details that matter most will come with the music itself. No track list or final release date has been confirmed, so fans will have to wait to hear exactly how the project takes shape.

Still, one thing is clear: Boyz II Men have spent decades proving that a great harmony can make just about any song feel personal. If they bring that same care to country storytelling, this next chapter could be worth the wait.
