Now here's a concept that apparently still needs its own public service announcement. Communication.

You know, that thing people keep telling us is important but somehow everybody wants to avoid when it's time to actually do it?

Gabriel Jacoby is putting the conversation back into R&B with his latest single, “let's talk about it.”

Released October 16 through PULSE Records and BOURNE Records, the track brings together funk-inspired instrumentation, melodic guitar, and the soulful vocal delivery that has helped the rising artist stand out.

And the message is pretty straightforward. Before two people give up on each other, maybe they should try having an actual conversation. Revolutionary, I know.

R&B With Something to Say

Jacoby's music carries influences from Southern blues, soul, and contemporary R&B. His vocals move between a textured, raspy delivery and a softer falsetto, giving his records a personality that feels rooted in tradition without sounding stuck in another decade.

Following his gutta child project, “let's talk about it” continues to develop that sound.

The song explores the possibility of working through relationship difficulties by being honest about what both people need. It's a familiar subject in R&B, but Jacoby's approach makes it feel conversational rather than overly dramatic.

An Artist Worth Watching

Gabriel Jacoby has been steadily building his audience, and his recent appearance at Austin City Limits gave festivalgoers another opportunity to experience his music live.

For listeners looking for emerging artists who bring personality and musicianship to R&B, his name belongs in the conversation.

Not every relationship record needs to be about betrayal, revenge, or who blocked whom first. Sometimes the story is about two people deciding whether they're willing to understand each other. And frankly, that's grown.

“let's talk about it” is available now on streaming platforms.

Are we bringing communication back to R&B, or did it never leave?
