Tank Makes R&B History as 'Yes' Becomes His 12th No. 1

The R&B General has another milestone to celebrate. Tank's song “Yes” has become his 12th No. 1 on Billboard's Adult R&B Airplay chart, a new high-water mark for a male artist on that chart.

As reported by YouKnowIGotSoul and The Source in October 2026, Tank moved past Charlie Wilson's previous mark. Alicia Keys remains ahead on the chart's overall list.

“Yes” draws from Floetry's “Say Yes,” a connection longtime R&B lovers will recognize. The new song appears on Tank's EXPERIENCE project.

There is plenty of room for newer voices in R&B, but don't count the veterans out. Twelve chart-toppers is a reminder that Tank is still very much in the conversation.
